International Maritime Information Systems SA (PTY) Ltd [IMIS SA] is affiliated with the global International Maritime Information Systems group [IMIS Global].

IMIS Global has designed, for the global market, a world leading maritime tracking solution called MariWeb™. This solution tracks maritime vessels carrying Automatic Identification System [AIS] transponders.

IMIS SA was created in 2002 with the objective of designing, installing and supporting MariWeb™ systems to the international market.

Since 2005 IMIS South Africa has been developing a fish management solution to help littoral states manage their fishing fleets (with the emphasis on small scale artisanal fishing vessels) and monitor the activities of all vessels that may be active along a country’s shoreline. This solution involves the deployment of MariWeb™ base stations on the shore side and installation of the newly patented and developed vessel units on the artisanal fishing vessels.
